The Church Scattered: Going Multi-campus - 03/07/2010

SimasFamily

We meet for corporate prayer before each Sunday service.

(8:30am West Lane Campus) (6:00pm Miracle Mile Campus)

We also meet at 6:15am for prayer on Tuesday mornings.

The condition of the church may be very accurately gauged by its prayer meetings. So is the prayer meeting a grace-ometer, and from it we may judge the amount of divine working among a people. If God be near a church, it must pray. And if he be not there, one of the first tokens of his absence will be slothfulness in prayer.

--Charles Spurgeon

"We're doing life" is a phrase you will hear a lot at Reality Stockton. "Doing Life" means that we live in community with each other that centers around the person and work of Jesus. "Doing Life" means we are involved in each others lives during the exciting times, hard times, in celebration and in mourning continually pointing each other to Jesus.

Church family or community is more than a Sunday morning cup of coffee and Home Groups are an important part of this community. Home Groups offer the opportunity to develop Jesus centered relationships, express gifts and talents, care for one another, study the Word and reach our neighborhood communities with the love of Jesus.

Home Groups are the expression of Gods triune nature, living in community, God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit existing in perfect relation to one another and how God designed us to live. We believe Home Groups are essential for spiritual growth and a greater understanding of our own walk with Jesus.

Service is the natural, consistent, and occasionally spontaneous giving of our time to Gods work and our communities modeled after what Jesus Christ has done for us on the cross. As God did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all (Rom 8:32), so our posture toward God and others in response to his love should be one of cheerful sacrifice and service.

There are many areas to serve in the church body and not all of them are on Sunday Mornings.

Statement of Service

Kids have a simple view of life and act on that view with simple faith. Its the kind of faith that can move mountains, change lives and even families. Children's ministry is designed to nurture that faith with a clear understanding of the Gospel.

At Reality Stockton we believe that each child is fearfully and wonderfully made but like all of us is in desperate need of Gods grace. It is through Gods grace by faith in Jesus that our sin is forgiven and our relationship with our Heavenly Father is restored. As children understand and begin to walk in this new restored relationship with their Heavenly Father they begin to live out the purpose for their lives, to worship the creator, Jesus.

Through the expression of worship individuals and families are transformed by acknowledging the character and nature of God. Reality Children's ministry exists to facilitate this process.

The power of the Gospel will create a strong and vital community of teenagers in Stockton who follow Christ and positively transform the social, spiritual and educational environments of their schools and neighborhoods.

THE CORE VALUES

1. Gospel Based - Foster spiritual growth through study and discussion of the Bible.

2. Fun Community - Create such a supportive, fun-loving environment that sharing the Gospel with friends will be a natural outgrowth of every youth group activity.

3.Outward Focused - Build a community of Christian teens in the Stockton area that powers a growing movement of Christian students working to bring spiritual renewal to their friends across the entire city.

Missions is a lifestyle for us. This means that in all aspects of life, we carry ourselves as ministers of reconciliation (2 Cor 5:18-20; 1 Peter 2:4-9). Missions is something we attempt to live out every day. So, whether it is engaging our neighbors or co-workers, or going to serve those who live in the uttermost parts of the world, those experiences are tools to help us live out Missional Living with other Christians in the church. While we believe "missions" is a lifestyle, we recognize that we are called to engage and serve all the peoples of the world.

He has given us a love for the nations and for His Name. We understand full well that God is glorified in our love and unity (Ephesians 4:1-6; John 13:34-35) and that it is Jesus who we want to be famous (Phil. 2:9-11).
